Carey L. Peters, Ph.D.

Executive Director

Carey has extensive experience in a wide variety of research, consulting and data analysis projects. While enhancing CLRC’s existing products and services, he has developed numerous new products that convey unique perspectives on labor costs and workforce needs. This includes the Market Share, Union-Nonunion Wage & Fringe Benefits Comparison, Benchmark Analysis, and Contract Costing reports available from CLRC. Carey has also grown the CLRC settlements database from a few hundred contracts to over 1,500. Organizations are often interested in CLRC’s research, so Carey presents the results at numerous conferences and seminars each year.

Carey has taught research methodology and statistics courses to graduate students. He is a member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, American Psychological Association, American Society of Association Executives and the Labor and Employment Relations Association.

Before coming to CLRC, Carey spent 14 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority, the nation’s largest public power company.  While there he led the compensation related analyses and negotiations with all of the construction trades and numerous other unions. On a number of occasions he was recognized for his efforts by being promoted to positions of increasing responsibility.

Carey earned his doctoral degree in industrial and organizational psychology at the University of Tennessee and has a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University.

In his free time he enjoys college football and pro basketball, hiking, reading, and woodworking.
Unique fact: Carey once performed center stage in an opera as a juggler.

Matt Minarik

Senior Data Analyst

Matt is responsible for completing many of the projects requested by clients, maintaining the CLRC database of settlements, preparing CLRC’s quarterly publications, executing several annual projects and acquiring data for CLRC’s database and clients’ reports alike.

Prior to joining CLRC full time, Matt graduated from the University of Tennessee Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in data analytics. While in college he received a number of academic scholarships and was on the Dean’s list five of eight semesters. Matt was a member of the Business Analytics Society and became familiar with numerous analytical software tools such as SQL, R Studio, SAS, and Microsoft Access and Excel.

In his free time Matt enjoys college and pro football, concerts, snow skiing, disc golfing and reading.
Unique fact: Matt worked at a summer camp for three summers during his college tenure.

Beth Peters

Business Specialist

Beth provides an eclectic mix of support work for CLRC. This includes developing relationships with association executives, managing mailings, entering data and conducting research. Her work experiences and perspectives on various business issues are invaluable as CLRC grows and develops.

Beth earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing from TCU.

Unique fact: Beth homeschooled her children from elementary through high school.
